Districts

Norwich’s Business district is one of the central points of the city: home to both historic sites, and big names. The ornate Marble Hall in Surrey House is occupied by Aviva, one of Norwich’s largest businesses.

The district is a fantastic spot for retail. Shops line St Stephens street, including one of the entrances to Chantry Place: an undercover shopping centre home to over 90 shops, cafes and restaurants.

Getting into Norwich via the Business district is easy, with the bus station in the centre of the district.

Norwich Castle overlooks Castle Quarter shopping centre, big brand shops, cafes and restaurants on Gentleman's Walk, and Norwich's famous market stalls. The market is home to some fantastic street food vendors, as well as many independent vendors offering everything from vintage clothing to house plants. You'll also find The Forum here, which houses a library, BBC Look East, and much more.

Norwich's Norman Cathedral dominates the Norfolk skyline with its famous 315-foot spire, overlooking its lively streets and cultural monuments. Hospitality businesses thrive in this area, with a mix of both chains and independent businesses. You'll find the famous Elm Hill in Cathedral Quarter, which has been used as a film set before. There's also lots of independent and niche shops in this area.

A retail mecca, Chapelfield is home to Chantry Place shopping centre – which includes big-named retail brands such as Frasers, H&M, Urban Outfitters and much more. It's also a great place for entertainment, with Norwich Theatre Royal close by. There are plenty of restaurants in this area, with hospitality businesses thriving.

The Creative quarter is aptly home to the prestigious Norwich University of the Arts (NUA). Here you'll find the unique entertainment venue, Norwich Playhouse, as well as independent eateries, pubs and bars. It's also a great spot for vintage shopping, with several stores and emporiums in the area.

King Street Quarter is a hot spot for leisure and hospitality businesses including bars, pubs and eateries. This area is also steeped in history and culture, with Grade 1 listed building, Dragon Hall; home to the National Centre for Writing. You'll also find TV, media & publishing giants ITV and Archant in this quarter.

Norwich Lanes is full of thriving niche shops. The cobbled streets of Norwich Lanes are a foodie's paradise, with a wide range of independent cafes, restaurants and bakeries – including the famous Grosvenor fish & chip shop. It's also home to Fuel Studios offices, which houses a wide range of businesses.

Riverside is Norwich's entertainment capital; a thriving hub for hospitality and leisure businesses. You'll find family fun with Odeon Cinema, Hollywood Bowl and even a trampoline park in this area. Riverside is known for its many restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs which create a lively nightlife scene. Plus, it's home to a large retail park full of big brand shopping stores.
